The first recorded match in Australia took place in Sydney in December 1803, at which point cricket was already well established in the infant colony. Aboriginal cricketers formed the first Australian team to tour England in 1868, and by the time Australia visited England in 1880, a system of international tours was well established.

In World Series Cricket first time the white ball was used in the year 1878. This ball can still be seen in the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame.
